What If...

It's been a while.  I"m really bummed about Tim Russert.  Big loss.

As I watch Al Gore endores Barack Obama by way of a lecture on the environment, I can't help but think of the Iowa floods.  If I let my mind wander I'll start thinking Devine Intervention.  What if... someone was trying to send people a BIG wake up call?  The mighty Mississippi has spilt her banks.  But the loss in Iowa will effect everyone in ways that all lead back to higher prices because of higher oil.  Message: Change your ways or else...
Or else you'll keep paying out the ass.

hmmm... how many ways can we change?
Here's my list:
•RECYCLE PEOPLE
•WALK OR BIKE (plus added benefits of health, shape and better fitting clothes)
•SOLAR POWER
•can someone hook me up with one of those olive oil cars?
•HYBRID CARS
•step away from the gas pedal, or at least don't hit it so hard so quickly
•CAR POOL - that's a no brainer!
•Drive the speed limit... I know that is a hard one, but it really does save on gas!
•Grow what you can.  What you can't grow, buy locally.  food from 5 miles away supports local farms and transportation costs a lot less than food from 5000 miles away.  People it does travel that far.  And you can have a beautiful potted garden if you don't have a yard.
•Check up on your appliances... just because they still work, doesn't mean they work efficiently. You may be able to save some money on your electric bills by buying a more energy efficient appliance.
•Dry your clothes in the sun, not the dryer.
•Cook Cook Cook.  You should plan ahead for leftovers. You can and make 2 or 3 bigger meals that can stretch to 5 meals.  Saving you money and trips to the grocery store.
READ MORE WATCH LESS...(you'll definitely get smarter... and just a note: those flat screen LCDs and Plasmas generate an ginormous amount of energy.  So if you're like me and like to have the TV on for background noise, stop.  You'll save money).

Rotten Tomatoes

This year I decided not to  start my garden.  Mainly growing tomatoes.  My daughter had tomatoes on her sandwich for lunch.  (She never buys school lunch) and got unexpectantly sick. And I mean sick. I had never seen anything come on so fast and so violently. Now I'm looking at the news about all the recalls of tomatoes. Unbelievable that nothing is safe in our food supply.   nothing is safe.
She's okay, but how is it in this day and age that we can't rely on eating safely?  This great country is starting to sound great in name alone.  Public education gets a C.  Public education in the inner city schools (NYC area) I would give a D.  On a good day.  Food is dangerous,  toys are poisonous hazards made by underage slaves.  Nobody can find a decent job and the President is an asshole, and the VP is a criminal....and an asshole.

Oh, needless to say.  I did not see Jeffery Ross, because of tomatoes.  But the show ended up being Saturday.  Not Friday.  So, in a way the tomatoes saved me a drive to Atlantic City.  I can not DEAL with the Garden Sate on a Friday evening.  And for that I can be thankful. Gas money saved.  Saturday, my husband gets sick, after eating a sandwich with...tomatoes.  They weren't organic,  and, they were from Shoprite.

Well people... it's not too late to start a potted garden of tomatoes.  And if anyone gets sick, you'll know who didn't wash their hands.

I love this video. Here is one of my best friends at the end of her fashion show in London. We had a good laugh at this. Great clothes by the way!
You go Jules, What a good sport!

Who is Jeffery Ross?

I have vip seats the for Jeffery Ross show in Atlantic City.  He's a comedian, Jefferey Ross...I'm, not sure I want to sit in the front row.  Fair game you know...  But, with all that is happening in this world.  A good laugh may be what's needed now.

Why not solar powered planes?

United Airlines just announced that they are cutting 1600 jobs.  Big planes will be the first to drop out of the friendly skies.  I just flew back to New York last night on one of those big friendly gas behemoths.  For all the time these creatures stay in the sky, why not develop a hybrid plane that can store up on solar wings. hmmm.  Just on the back of GM and Ford cutting SUV production.  Thank God.  Problem is, why can't they use their great minds to start producing green technology in those plants and let people keep their jobs.  I'm sure the workers would not mind getting paid disassembling  their plant and rebuilding to produce green technology products etc.  Just an idea.  People can move fast if they want to.

... And now for something totally different...

Obama won the nomination last night.  YES YES YES!!! WE CAN!
I love it... and I got a crush on Obama!...

Now.  We can really start the debate.  John McCain is so OLD and crazy.  I don't want him anywhere near that button.  America is ready for this.  The world is ready to put away the dinosaur mentality of old white men who want war, with no personal sacrifice.  I have the audacity of hope that we can move forward by correcting past mistakes.  By past mistakes, I'm talking about holding war crimes tribunals.  We need accountability for the blood spilt, lives lost and cheap oil.  Oh,  I'm sorry  did I say cheap oil?  And by the way, has anyone checked Fort Knox?  Is there anything in there?

Iraq has not been rebuilt.  Haliburton is in Dubai  Bush purchased nearly 100,000 acres of land in Paraguay.  Near the largest water researve in the world.
...Could it be that Bush is shifting his power from oil to water?  Or could it be that Paraguay won't extradite.  Just a thought here everyone.

The International Red Cross has drawn up War Crimes proposal against Bush Cheney and Rummy. Could there be real justice? Wouldn't that be a welcome change.

I say lock 'em all up. Put 'em in Rikers. Ha!
